Alfred “Jay” Pennington, 65, of Martinsville, passed away Sunday, April 24, 2022, at Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital. He was born June 10, 1956, in Lorraine, Ohio, to the late Alfred Pennington and Mona Smith Pennington. He enjoyed drawing, books, and playing with his grandchildren. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Marsha Pennington; and brothers, James Pennington, Timmy Pennington, Eddie Pennington and Robbie Pennington. Jay is survived by his wife, Katherine Wrightsel Pennington; daughters, Angela Ferguson, Danielle Wrightsel, Cristal Pennington and Marsha Pennington; brothers, Brian Pennington and Kevin Pennington; and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
