Alphonsa Gibbens, 71, of Martinsville, Virginia passed away Sunday, May 1, 2022, at SOVAH Health of Martinsville. He was born August 17, 1950, in Amizo, West Virginia to the late Gabe and Gracie Holland Gibbens. He was a musician, playing the bass, sax, keyboard and guitar. He liked football and basketball. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by sisters, Deloise Hairston, Lorrene Gibbens and Betty Brooks; brothers, Ernest Gibbens, Leon Gibbens and James Howard Hairston.
