Charles Wilton Sigmon, 70, of Axton, Virginia, passed away Tuesday, May 10, 2022, at his residence. He was born December 15, 1951, in Bassett, to the late Melvin and Ada Janey Sigmon. He had worked in maintenance with Ridgeway Clocks. He was in a hunting club, loved fishing, hunting, and woodworking. He loved to mow his yard, was always willing to help friends and neighbors, and to be there for them and he loved each one of them. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sisters, Louise McGhee, Mabel Martin, Evelyn Dunford and Dorothy Saul; and his brothers, Lewis Sigmon and Robert Sigmon. Charles is survived by his wife, Gaynell Murdock Sigmon; God-daughter, Mickey Dalton; son, Chris Sigmon; sisters, Mae Naff and Gay Thomas; special niece, Julia Ann Comfort; sister-in-laws, Gracie Sigmon, Lorene Murdock, and Bonnie Murdock; several other nieces and nephews; and his special fur baby, “Marlee”. The Memorial Service will be Wednesday, May 11, 2022 at 2:00 pm, at Wright Funeral Service Chapel with Pastor Don Reynolds officiating. Visitation will be 30 minutes prior to the service.
