George Charles Griffin, 84, of Ridgeway, passed away Tuesday, March 15, 2022, at Martinsville Health and Rehab. He was born March 2, 1938, in Pennsylvania, to the late Oswald Lee Shipman and Revonia Lee Bush Shipman. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his daughter, Revonia Sue Griffin; son, Wendell Griffin; step-son, Dewey W. Hancock; and siblings, James C. Shipman, Lillian Blankenship, Wade Shipman, Virginia Shipman, Nellie Griffin, Elizabeth Hancock, John Griffin, Jr., Mary Ann Griffin, James Griffin, Virginia Smith, and Beulah Griffin. George is survived by his wife, Jewell South Griffin; daughter, Gay Lynn Griffin; sons, George Griffin, Charles Griffin; step-son, Marvin Hancock; sister, Daisy Louise Lance; grandchildren, Codie Wayne Griffin, Dewey Lee Hancock, Lisa Marie Hancock Glover; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. The funeral will be Monday, March 21, 2022, at 2:00 PM at Wright Funeral Service Chapel. Burial will follow at Pack Odell Family Cemetery, Ridgeway, Virginia.
