Glennis Lee McGhee, 80, of Martinsville, Virginia passed away Tuesday, March 29, 2022, at Woltz Hospice Home, Dobson, North Carolina. He was born February 2, 1942, in Williamson, West Virginia to the late Theodore McGhee and Nellie Allen McGhee. He had worked for Koger Air as a Welder for over thirty years. Glennis enjoyed fishing, hunting and spending time at the ocean. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Donahue McGhee; sisters, Evelyn Beckett and Helen Allen; brothers, T. R. McGhee, Cecil McGhee and Kenneth McGhee; and step-daughter, Barbara Harmon. He is survived by a son, Cecil Lee McGhee; step-children, Linda Logan, Bobby Lee Torrence and Jackie Torrence; sisters Kay Wade (Jimmy) and Elizabeth Tatum; grandchildren, Derrek McGhee, Anissa Rose McGhee and Christopher Nance; several step-grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren. The funeral will be Monday, April 4, 2022, at 1:30 P. M. at Wright Funeral Service Chapel. Burial will follow at Henry Memorial Park. There will be a floating visitation on Sunday, April 3, 2022, from 2:00 P. M. to 6:00 P. M. at Wright Funeral Service Chapel. The family will receive friends at the home of Cecil McGhee, 6120 Mountain Valley Road, Axton, Virginia, 24054. Wright Funeral Service & Crematory is serving the family.
