Johari Halk Garrison, 45, of Collinsville, Virginia, passed away Monday, April 25, 2022, at SOVAH Health of Martinsville. She was born April 6, 1977, in Chicago, Illinois, to Barbara Ann Garrison and the late Macee Halk. Johari attended Mountain View Missionary Baptist Church. She enjoyed doing hair, watching TV, music, and spending time with family and friends. In addition to her mother, she is survived by her son, Khalif Bass-Todd; brother, Mark Halk; aunts and uncles, Kevin and Melinda Shanklin, Rita and Phillip Roloff, and Eugene Garrison; cousins, Nicole Garrison, Joel Garrison, James and Jahmal Mosley and families, Mildred Gray and family, Tamika Mosley, and Autumn Mosley; life partner, Alzene “Kita” Norman; and special friends Demetrius Huff and Rita “’Sis” Smith. A Memorial Service will be held Monday, May 2, 2022, at 11:00 AM, at Wright Funeral Service Chapel. Wright Funeral Service and Crematory is serving the family.
