Marion Lorraine Thompson Bowen Roberts, 88, of Sandys, Bermuda passed away Wednesday, May 4, 2022, in Collinsville, Virginia. She was born March 7, 1934, in Hamilton, Bermuda to the late Stanley and Anna Thompson. She was an active member of White Hill Gospel Chapel. She was a missionary for many years and aided Africa, St. Vincent, Aruba, and a few more countries. She visited nursing homes in Bermuda and sang, prayed, and encouraged the residents several times a week. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her second husband Anthony Roberts; first husband, Austin Bowen; brothers Calvin Thompson, Lancelot Thompson, Earlston Thompson, and Kenneth Thompson. She leaves to cherish her memories her daughter, Joy Bowen; son, Austin Bowen; daughter-in-law, Paula Bowen; sisters, Iona Brangman, Winnifred Thompson, Rosina Thompson and Maureen Darryl; brothers, Colin Thompson, Albert Thompson, Stanley Thompson and Millard Thompson; grandchildren, Michael Fields, Latoya Fields, Janee’ Bowen, Janel Rutigliano, Jason Bowen, Whitney Walker, Brittany Walker, and Courtney Walker; and a host of great-grandchildren; nieces, nephews, god-children and friends. The funeral will be Saturday, May 14, 2022, at 4:30 PM at Wright Funeral Service Chapel. An additional service and committal will be held in Bermuda at a later date.
