Otis Wayne Neamo, 74, of Martinsville, Virginia departed this life on Friday, April 8th, 2022, at Sovah Health of Martinsville. He was the 4th (of 8) Neamo children, and was born July 22nd, 1947 to the late James Wallace Neamo, Sr. and Thelma Josephine Clayborne Neamo. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Carlos Demetrious Neamo and a sister, Mary L. Marsh. Those left to cherish his memories are five brothers, Bradly William Neamo Sr., (Lillith) of Washington, DC, James Wallace Neamo, Jr. of California, Michael Percell Neamo Sr., of Maryland, Frederick Gayle (Debra) Neamo of Martinsville, and Ricky Dale (Stephanie) Neamo of Bassett. One loving Aunt Aquilla Noel of Rocky Mount. and a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives. A special friend Betty Manns, God Niece, Kiki Martin, close friends Porouko (Rudy) Murrell, Tommy Tinsley, co-worker Rev. Alfonzo Jones, neighbors Dennis Hairston, Willie Johnson and other friends, all whom he loved dearly. To know Otis was to love him, he was such a kind and gentle soul. Amongst all his siblings, he was probably the most reserved and private. He will truly be missed. One of his favorite hang out spots was the Travis Barber Shop & Barber Supply on Fayette Street in Martinsville. Otis was baptized by the late Rev. John Wade, at Pilgrim Missionary Baptist Church. Otis attended Albert Harris High School, after graduating in 1965, he proudly served our country in the United States Navy. After his tour, he was employed at Tultex for a time and retired from Fieldcrest Cannon after approximately 32 years. During this time, he continued to study and received two Career Studies Certificates, one in Air Conditioning and Refrigeration from Danville Community College in 1977 and in 2005 another in Building Trades Technology from Patrick Henry Community College. He was especially fond of football with his favorite team being the LA Rams and would often remind friends and family of their Superbowl wins in 2021-2022.
