Rev. W. Lewis Taylor, 79, of Ridgeway, passed away Tuesday, January 18, 2022, at his home. He was born November 18, 1942 in Martinsville, to the late Edward Wade Taylor and Ethel Irene Braddock Taylor. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Lisa Cannaday; son-in-law, John Souther; and brother, Jerry Taylor (Donna). He graduated from Martinsville High School and was a member of Mercy Crossing Church, owned and operated Taylor’s Auto Repair for 24 years, and enjoyed collecting model cars, camping, reading, playing music, singing and working in the church. He pastored Bridgewater Church of God. Lewis is survived by his wife, Brenda Novell Taylor; daughter, Penny Souther; son-in-law, Paul Cannaday; sister, Betty Taylor (Luke) Robertson; grandchildren, Candace Christian (Dustin), Kelsie Souther, and Zachary Souther; and great-grandson, Zayn Hairston. The funeral will be Saturday, January 22, 2022, at 2:00 PM at Mercy Crossing Church with Pastor Tim Nuckles and Rev. Jimmy Wood officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service. A graveside service will be Sunday, January 23, 2022, at 2:00 PM at Roselawn Burial Park. Wright Funeral Service and Crematory is serving the family.
