Willie Grant, Jr., 76, of Martinsville, passed away Wednesday, April 13, 2022 at his residence. He was born August 13, 1945 in Florence, South Carolina, to the late Lonnie and Clara Smalls Grant. He had been employed for over 40 years at Stanley Furniture, and he was the owner of Brookdale Car Wash. In his spare time, he enjoyed spending time with family and watching the Redskins. He had a special love and relationship with Deniyah Hightower and Derek Wimbush, Jr. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Elijah Grant; sister, Gracie Grant and brothers, Lonnie Grant and Thomas Grant. Willie is survived by his wife, Doris Juanita Clark Grant; daughters, Senora Carter, Wanda Waller, Felicia Boone and Sheila Hairston (Charles); sons, Eugene Grant (Michelle), Willie Grant, George Waller and Ronald Waller; sisters, Gracie Grant, Clara Grant and Maggie Grant; brother, Eugene Al-Way Grant (Yolanda); sister-in-law, Patricia Grant; 27 grandchildren and a host of great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and other family and friends. The funeral will be held on Monday, April 18, 2022 at 1:00 p.m. at the Spirit of Christ Worship Center, 4250 Chatham Road, Martinsville, with Bishop Robert Denzell Kellam officiating. The family will receive friends 30 minutes prior to the service.
