Yvonne Hairston Perkins, 73, of Eden, North Carolina passed away Thursday, January 20, 2022, at UNC- Rockingham Health, North Carolina. She was born October 8, 1948, in Pittsylvania County, Virginia to the late Walter Hairston and Margaret Carter Hairston. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers, Melvin Hairston, Dan Hairston, George Hairston, Bill Hairston, and Jerry Hairston. Yvonne enjoyed shopping especially at the goodwill and from QVC, and watching westerns. She loved spending time with family and friends. She was always a fancy dresser and a straight shooter, you never had to wonder what was on her mind. Yvonne is survived by her daughters, Crystal Perkins, Kimberly Perkins; son, George (Rocky) Perkins, Jr.; sisters, Adelaide Strange, Mozzella Hairston, and Betty Thompson; grandchildren, Rashon Perkins, Rakeem Perkins, Heaven Perkins, Alius Bowser, Kiera Perkins, Isaiah Perkins, and Khari Goines-Perke. A memorial Service will be held on Monday, January 31, 2022, at 11:30 A.M. at Wright Funeral Service Chapel with Minister William Poteat officiating. Burial will be private.
